Boettcher began her acting career at the age of four and was best known for her role as Melody Fuller, in Amazon Studios Original Series Gortimer gibbon's Life on Normal Street. Upon matriculating in 2018 she decided not to enrol in a school but rather focus on acting. Ashley was cast in the role of Jessica Finch for the 2011 family-friendly comedy Judy Moody & the Not Bummer Summer. In 2012, Ashley voiced many bears and rats on the smash animated adventure movie Ernest & Celestine featuring Forest Whitaker Lambert Wilson & Pauline Brunner. The film was awarded 14 of the 29 awards it was nominated, including an Oscar.
